51 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APR I L 15,, 1974 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SIGNAL MODERNIZATION ON MISHAWAKA AVENUE ADOPTED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4.1 1974 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the best <br />interest of the public safety and welfare to modernize the <br />signalization on Mishawaka Avenue at its intersection with <br />Ironwood Drive, 26th Street and 30th Street, and <br />WHEREAS, the improvement to the aforesaid intersections are compatible <br />with the Urban Transportation Study, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements <br />as provided by Acts of the General Assembly, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works order the <br />Department of Public Works to'prepare the plans, specifications, <br />co.s.t-estimates, sec ure_the'necessary right-of-way, p.ermi.ts, <br />appropriations, and to seek bids for and to construct said signal <br />modernization on Mishawaka Avenue'at Ironwood, 26th Street and <br />30th Street. <br />W <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/ Rollin E. Barcome <br />Member <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />Dated this 15th day of April, 1974. <br />SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - SIGNAL MODERNIZATION ON MISHAWAKA AVENUE <br />The title sheet approving plans for the signal modernization authorized in <br />Resolution No, 4, 1974 was received by the Board and, upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the title sheet was approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION - AMERICAN FREEDOM FROM HUNGER WALKATHON <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, that he had reviewed the request of the American Freedom <br />from Hunger Foundation to hold a Walkathon on September 21, 1974. Mr. Hazinski <br />recommended approval, pending submission of a route to be approved and complying <br />with all rules and regulations of the Board concerning Walkathons. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND APPROVED - JAMES KAPY <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, advised the Board that a Contractor's <br />Bond for James Kapy was properly executed and could be approved to 4/9/75. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bond was approved. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of April 3 through April 9, 1974 <br />was received and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, was ordered filed. <br />
