Marion Street to
820 W. Colfax Avenue. The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted
the following report:
"The Board of Public Works forwarded the request to move a
house from Marion and Lafayette to West Colfax via Lafayette
to Colfax. As per the City ordinance, no structure can be
moved on 200 N. Lafayette.
The mover contacted this Bureau and requested aid in
determining a route acceptable to him and to the City/State.
The route of Lafayette to LaSalle to Williams to Colfax was
recommended. Said route would place him on a state highway
for only one-half°block, causing the shortest disruption to
highway traffic, cause the mover to adjust only the signals
of Lafayette and LaSalle, and allow a "breakdown" area on
LaSalle west of Lincolnway West.
This Bureau recommends the above route subject to the contractor:
1. obtaining a ISHC permit
2. hiring, with the approval of this Bureau, 'a pre -qualified
signal contractor to adjust the traffic signal, and
3. agreeing to proceed at a time agreeable to the Traffic
Division, South Bend Police Department, Bureau of
Traffic and Lighting and himself.
s/ Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager
Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand; seconded by Mr. Mullen and
carried, the recommendation was approved with the three stipulations
noted and Mr. Lykowski is to be advised to proceed with malting
application for the house move following all requirements of the
Municipal Code for such a permit application.
