REGULAR 11EETI14G <br />OCTOBER 4, 1976 <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of September 27 through <br />October 1 was received. The report indicated eight outages. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />report was filed. <br />SALT AND LI2UID CALCIUM CHLORIDE BIDS APPROVED <br />The Board received the following recommendations from Joseph <br />Gawrysiak, Street Commissioner. It was recoriiended that the bid <br />of Orbie of Illiana, Inc., the only bid received, be accepted for <br />100,000 gallons of Liquid Calcium Chloride @ 182(% — Total Net Bid, <br />$18,500. It was recommended that the bid of Diamond Crystal Salt <br />Company of $15.70 per ton for 10,000 tons of rock salt and the bid <br />of Morton Salt Company of $15.80 per ton for 10,000 tons of rock <br />salt both be accepted. Mr. Gawrysiak said that by accepting both <br />bids, he would be assured of a supplier for salt when it is needed. <br />He noted that there was a problem obtaining salt from the bidder who <br />was awarded the contract last year. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recom- <br />mendations and accepted the bid of Orbie of Illiana for Liquid Calcium <br />Chloride and the bid of both Morton Salt Company and Diamond Crystal <br />Salt Company for rock salt for the 1976-77 year. <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FILED - LA SALLE PARK PROJECT <br />A Notice of Public Hearing to be held on the LaSalle Park Project <br />by the Department of Redevelopment was submitted to the Board. The <br />hearing is scheduled for Friday, October 15.. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the notice was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Design and Administration for <br />review and any written comments. <br />BID ACCEPTED - FUEL OIL FOR CENTURY CE14TER <br />Patrick 11. McMahon, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />was present and recommended that the Board accept the only bid <br />received from Amoco Oil Company for No. 4 fuel oil for Century Center. <br />The bid was 32.5 cents a gallon and Mr. McMahon said he had estimated <br />the cost at 32.68 for budgetary purposes. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Farrand, seconded by Mr. -Brunner and carried, the Board accepted the <br />recommendation to award the bid for fuel oil for Century Center to <br />the Amoco Oil Company on their low and only bid. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the meeting <br />adjourned at 10:25 a.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />1 <br />
