REGULAR MEETING JUNE 14, 1976 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9:30 a.m. on Monday,,June 14, 1976 by President Rollin E. <br />Farrand with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks was also present.. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Farrand noted that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />had been reviewed andohe made a motion that the minutes be <br />approved as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED REAL ESTATE <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the sale of city - <br />owned real estate at 1219-1221 S. Lafayette and 922 E. Calvert <br />Street. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />1219-1221 S. Lafayette <br />Bid of Yarger-Blake - $547.75 <br />Bid of Paul Grothaus - $537.00 <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks advised the Board that both <br />bids were equal to the offering price and that the high bid <br />of Yarger-Blake could be accepted. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board accepted the high <br />bid of Yarger-Blake of $547.75 for the city -owned lot at 1219-1221 <br />Ci S. Lafayette. The City Attorney's Office was directed to prepare <br />a deed for final closing. <br />922 E. Calvert <br />Bid of Irvin C. Crandell - $726.00 <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks advised the Board that the bid <br />is equal to the offering price and can be accepted. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />Board accepted the sole bid of Irvin C. Crandell for the city -owned <br />lot at 922 E. Calvert Street for a total bid price of $726.00. <br />The City Attorney's Office was directed to prepare a deed for <br />final closing <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY - LA SALLE, INC. <br />LaSalle, Inc., by its Attorney G. Burt Ford, files a petition to <br />vacate the north -south alley west of Portage, between Kinyon and <br />Bulla. The petitioner proposes to construct a branch banking <br />facility if the vacation is granted. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the petition was <br />referred to the City Engineer's Office for preliminary review and <br />a utility check. <br />REOUEST FOR TENT SERVICES - 215 N. JOHNSON <br />The Board received a request from the Berean Seventh Day Adventist <br />Church to erect a tent on their property during the months of July <br />and August. Services would be conducted from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. <br />each evening. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Building Deprtment for preliminary review and <br />recommendation. <br />LETTER RE: BRICK STREET PATCHING <br />The Board received a letter from Rollin E. Farrand, Director of <br />Public Works, setting forth the policy of the City regarding <br />brick street patching. The letter indicated that the policy would <br />be to salvage existing bricks and repair street cuts with those <br />bricks. Minor street repairs may not replace existing bricks <br />
