" 2 <br />SPECIAL. MEETING <br />JUNE 21 1976 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />3:50 p.m, on Wednesday, June 2, 1976 by President Rollin <br />E. Farrand, with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks was also present. <br />APPROVAL OF LEASE SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE 701 PORTAGE AVENUE <br />A lease agreement with the South Bend Civic Theatre for the use <br />of the premises at 701 Portage Avenue, old Fire Station No. 6, <br />was submitted to the Board. Deputy City Attorney .Georgia Luks <br />advised the Board that she had reviewed and revised the lease <br />agreement and had discussed the proposed changes with William <br />Gooley, President of the South Bend Civic Theatre, Mr. Gooley <br />was present and said he approved the lease in its revised form. <br />Mrs. Luks'recommended that the Board approve the lease. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr. Farrand and carried, <br />the Board approved the lease agreement with the South Bend Civic <br />Theatre for the leasing of the premises at 701 Portage Avenue <br />for the period of January 1, 1976 through December 31, 1976. <br />REQUEST APPROVED - USE OF LEASED FACILITIES BY P.A.N.A. <br />The Board received 'a request from the South Bend Civic Theatre <br />to allow the use of their leased property at 701 Portage Avenue <br />on Sunday, June 6, 1976�by the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association <br />for an ice cream social." Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request for use of the <br />property was approved, subject to the filing of a Certificate of <br />Insurance by the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association. <br />CLOSING OF LELAND AVENUE ON JUNE 6 APPROVED <br />The Park Avenue Neighborhood Association requested the closing <br />of Leland Avenue, from Lindsey to Portage, on Sunday June 6 from <br />12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., in conjunction with their Tour of Homes <br />and Ice Cream Social. Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that the request was <br />reviewed and approval was recommended. His Department will deliver <br />barricades to the site. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation <br />for the closing of Leland Avenue, from Lindsey to Portage, on <br />Sunday, June 6 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED <br />A Certificate of Insurance from the South Bend Civic Theatre <br />was submitted to the Board and reviewed by Deputy City Attorney <br />Georgia Luks. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the special meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Cl r <br />
