JUNE 1, 1976 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />RECOMMENDATION APPROVED - PARKING RATE CHANGES —RESOLUTION NO 17 <br />The following recommendation was received by the Board: <br />"To: Board of Public Works June 1, 1976 <br />From: Peter H. Mullen, Controller <br />Subject: Parking Garage Rates <br />On Monday, May 17, 1976, the South Bend Common Council took the <br />official position of supporting the recommenations of the South <br />Bend Parking Facilities Commission. The Study commission's <br />position is as attached in Allen C. Bloomquist;s letters dated <br />April 23 and May 27, 1976 to the Common Council, Mayor Peter <br />J. Nemeth and the Board -of Works. <br />We concur with the Council's recommendation of supporting the <br />recommendations of the South Bend Park-ing Facilities Study <br />Commission. We recommend that approval be given of these new <br />rates to be proposed to the Common Council in the form of a <br />resolution as soon as possible. <br />s/ Peter H. Mullen <br />Rate changes to be recommended are as follows: <br />Flat Lot - Western and St. Joseph - monthly rate of $11.00 <br />Flat Lot - referred to as the "hole" - monthly rate of $12.00 <br />Flat Lot - at Main and Colfax - monthly rate of $12.00 <br />Flat Lot - at Washington and St: Joseph - monthly rate of $14.00 <br />Flat Lot - at Washington and Michigan - monthly rate of $14.00 <br />Monthly rate at the Jefferson Street Parking Garage to be <br />$23.00 per month. <br />Hourly rate at the Jefferson Street Parking Garage to be: <br />One hour or less <br />One to two hours <br />Two to three hours <br />Three to four hours <br />Four to five hours <br />Five to six hours <br />Six to seven hours <br />Seven or more hours <br />one calendar day <br />$ .35 <br />$ .50 <br />$ .65 <br />$ .80 <br />$ .95 <br />$1.10 <br />$1.25 <br />$1.35 Maximum <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the recommendation of Mr. Mullen was approved and the Clerk was directed_. <br />to prepare a resolution to be filed with the Common Council for <br />approval of the recommended rate changes. <br />STREET SERVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request of Dora Lottie <br />to conduct Street Services at Napier and Chapin Streets during the <br />month of June from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. <br />Mr. Wadzinski.said he discussed the matter with Captain Sweitzer <br />of the Police Department and they concur that approval can be given with <br />the stipulation that there be no obstruction of pedestrian or <br />vehicular traffic in the area as a result of the=services. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner, and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />
