SPE"CIAL MEETING <br />MAY 18, 1976 <br />1 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 1976 by President Rollin <br />Farrand with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT WITH INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION <br />An agreement between the City of South Bend and the Indiana <br />State Highway Commission for Project 11-6000(16), for signal <br />modernization at 16 intersections and intersection improvement <br />at Portage, Hamilton, Wilber and Woodland Streets was submitted <br />to the Board. Mr. Brunner made a motion that Paragraph four, <br />Page 1 of the Agreement be revised to read as follows: <br />"Whereas the Board's share of the cost shall be the total amount <br />of the entire cost of said project less the amount contributed <br />by the federal government, through federal aid, and the Board <br />has caused to be filed -by the Department of Public Works an <br />appropriation ordinance with the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend which ordinance provides for the appropriation <br />of the sum of $159,000 to apply to the construction of said project, <br />which amount is estimated to equal the Board's share of the <br />entire cost of the project and that such ordinance has received <br />first reading before the South Bend Common Council on May 10, <br />1976 with final approval of this ordinance expected to occur on <br />May 24, 1976." <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />Agreement as revised was approved and will be transmitted to <br />the Indiana State Highway Commission for their approval. <br />There being no further business to come before the special <br />meeting, upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. -Brunner <br />and carried, the special meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />7��- - Z (Y". <br />Patricia DeClercq, 091erk <br />L- zz� e� t/ <br />o lin E.
