199 <br />SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 30, 1976 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />11:35 a.m, on Friday, January 30, 1976 by President Rollin Farrand, <br />with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Mullen present. <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT ECONOMY ELEVATORS, INC. <br />Mr. Farrand explained that the purpose of the special meeting <br />was to approve a contract with Economy Elevators, Inc, for full <br />maintenance service for the elevators in the two City parking <br />garages. The Board of Public Works awarded the bid for this project <br />to the low bidder, Economy Elevators, Inc., on January 12, 1976 <br />at a total bid price of $480.00 per month. Mr. Farrand said the <br />contract has been prepared by the Legal Department and he has <br />reviewed it. It was necessary to act at a special meeting on the <br />approval.of the contract because the present contract expires at <br />midnight on January 31, 1976. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, <br />seconded by Mr. Farrand and carried, the Board approved and signed <br />the contract with Economy Elevators, Inc. to provide full maintenance <br />service for the elevators in the two City parking garages at a <br />total price of $.480.00 per month. <br />APPLICATIONS FOP. RIVER BEND PLAZIA WINTER CARNIVAL APPROVED <br />Applications for the River Bend Plaza Winter Carnival were submitted <br />to the Board, with the favorable recommendation of Douglas Simpson, <br />-- Director. <br />1. Kenneth and Virginia Sleeper, Display of Dogs, January 31 <br />and February 1, 1976. Insurance verification has.been received. <br />2. Mary Chapman, Pony and Sleigh Ride, January 31 and February 1, <br />1976. Insurance verification has been received. <br />3. The Snowmobile Club, the Michiana _Cross, Country Ski Club and <br />the Swiss Valley Demonstration Ski Team - Demonstrations on <br />January 31 and February 1, 1976. Hold Harmless Agreements are <br />to be signed by each participant prior to the demonstration. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the applications of Kenneth and Virginia Sleeper and Mary Chapman <br />were approved and the ski demonstrations were approved, subject to <br />the signing of Hold Harmless Agreements by each participant before <br />the demonstrations. Douglas Simpson will file the Hold Harmless <br />agreements with the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the Special Meeting, <br />upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />
