M REGULAR MEETING JULY 28, 1975. OPENING OF BIDS CURB TTH DRAINAGE STRUCTURES-WESTMOOR STREET This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of 2750 feet of curb with drainage structures on Westmoor Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Rieth-Riley Construction Co. Bid was signed by Richard Ruhlman, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $28,027.65 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Public Construction for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - CURB AND SIDEWALK, BOWMAN CEMETERY This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of curbs and sidewalk at Bowman Cemetery on Miami Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Rieth-Riley Construction Co. Bid was signed by Richard Ruhlman, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $6,991.00 McIntyre & Jones Construction Co. Bid was signed by Kenneth McIntyre, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $6,954.00. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Public Construction for recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - WALNUT STREET AND GRAND TRUNK WESTERN RAILROAD RETAINING WALLS AND SIDEWALK This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of retaining walls and sidewalk on Walnut Street at the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Ziolkowski Construction Co. Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Bid - $52,459.90 Upon motion made,'seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Public Construction for review and recommendation. COMPLAINT RE: TREES AND PLANTS ON RIVER BEND PLAZA Mrs. Janet Allen was present and asked the Board about the responsibility for replacement of deed trees and plantings on the Plaza. Mr. Seitz noted that the responsibility lies with the contractor until March of 1976. He suggested that he might have someone from the Park Department Staff check the condition of the trees and plants. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized Mr. Seitz to have the condition of the trees, shrubs and plants on the Plaza checked and to contact the contractor regarding replacement.
