n4m <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 19, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on <br />Monday, December 19, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, <br />Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was <br />also present. <br />ADDITION OF AGENDA ITEM <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Board received a recommendation from the Century <br />Center Board of Managers regarding the bid for the sound and lighting system <br />for consideration. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the recommendation was added to the agenda as Item 2-A. <br />ANNOUNCEMENT OF SOLID WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE <br />The Board received notification from Joseph Klebosits, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Solid Waste, advising that regular pick-up would be made by that Department <br />on Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26, both holidays for City Employees. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the notice <br />was filed and the.press was asked to publicize the schedule for the information <br />of residents. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Mullen reported that the minutes of the December 12, 1977 regular meeting of <br />the Board had been reviewed and he made a motion that they be accepted as submitted. <br />Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. Mr. McMahon reported that a special <br />meeting of the Board was held on Wednesday, December 14, 1977 to consider a <br />petition for annexation and annexation agreement prepared and submitted by Indiana <br />Franklin Realty, Inc. and Edward Rose of Indiana in connection with a proposed <br />Garden Apartment Complex at Ironwood, Ireland and Inwood Roads. He made a motion <br />that the minutes of the special meeting be approved as submitted. Mr. Brunner <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />CHANGE OF DATES OF MEETINGS <br />Mr. McMahon noted that it would be necessary to reschedule Board meetings for <br />the next two weeks because of City holidays. He made a motion to schedule the <br />meetings for Tuesday, December 27, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday, January 3, 1978 <br />at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />BID AWARDED - OPERATION OF SOUND AND LIGHTING SYSTEM AT CENTURY CENTER <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Century Center Board of Managers <br />to accept the bid of Audio Services Company for Operation and Maintenance of <br />the Sound and Lighting Service at Century Center for 1978 at a total price of <br />$21,274.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board accepted the bid of Audio Services and directed that a contract be <br />prepared to be signed by the Century Center Board of Managers. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CLOSED CIRCUIT T.V. FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for a Closed Circuit T.V. System for <br />the Police Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend .Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Audio Visual Specialists <br />Fort Wayne, Indiana <br />Bid - 7,953.00 <br />Meade Electric Company <br />Hammond, Indiana <br />Bid - $7,694.00 <br />Bid was signed by Ronald H.
