SPECIAL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 9, 1977 <br />Ilu <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 1977 by President <br />Patrick McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present and <br />Mr. Mullen absent. <br />Mr. McMahon reported that the purpose of the special meeting <br />was to consider a request of the St. Joseph County Veteran's <br />organization to close Washington Street, between Main and <br />Lafayette, on Friday, November 11, 1977 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. <br />for Annual Veteran's Day ceremonies. <br />Mr. McMahon asked if members of <br />of this special meeting and the <br />Tribune and WSBT, WNDU AND WSJV <br />notified of the meeting. <br />the news media had been informed <br />Clerk noted that the South Bend <br />television stations had been <br />Mr. McMahon read the recommendation of Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager <br />of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, indicating that the street <br />closing could be approved with the stipulation that the parking <br />lane and the northernmost driving lane be kept open to allow <br />access to the American National Bank Parking Garage. Mr. McMahon <br />made a motion that the closing of Washington Street be approved, <br />subject to Mr. Wadzinski's recommendation.
