REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 24, 1977 <br />D. Install "No Parking This Side" on south side of Vine Street <br />for two -block area between 20th and Ironwood because of <br />the narrow width of pavement at the entrance to the IUSB <br />parking lot. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the installation was approved. <br />BOND APPROVED - JOHN ARMSTEAD <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that a Contractor's Bond for John Armstead was properly executed <br />and submitted and could be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was approved. <br />INDIANA CABLEVISION BOND RELEASED <br />The Surety Company which furnished the bond for Indiana Cablevision <br />Company requested that the bond be released by the Board. Ray <br />S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported that he had reviewed <br />the bond and it could be released. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bond was released. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy City Controller, submitted to the <br />Board Claim Docket Numbers 18226 through 18694 and recommended approval. <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion that the Board approve Claim Docket Numbers <br />18226 through 18694 and that checks for payment be issued. Mr. <br />Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period October 17 through 21 <br />was received. The report indicated 126 outages. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was <br />ordered filed. <br />LETTER RE: TRAFFIC PROBLEM ON BENDIX DRIVE AND VOORDE DRIVE <br />The Board received a letter from Leonard Tucker_: calling attention to <br />a traffic problem on Bendix Drive at Voorde Drive. Mr. Tucker asked <br />that consideration be given to installation of a traffic signal at <br />this corner and cited traffic delays and accidents, including a <br />recent accident where a car driven by his daughter was demolished. He <br />called attention to possible sight problems occurring in the Weyer- <br />haeuser Company parking lot. Mr. McMahon said, as a statement of <br />policy from the Department of Public Works, signals are not installed <br />for the purpose of slowing traffic down. He made a motion that the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting look into the situation at the Weyer- <br />haeuser Company lot to determine whether there is a sight problem at <br />the intersection and that John DeLee, Building Commissioner, be asked <br />to investigate any sight problem caused by shrubbery in the area. <br />The Police Department Traffic Bureau will be asked to look into <br />enforcement procedures in this area. <br />There being <br />made by Mr. <br />adjourned a <br />no further <br />McMahc <br />t 10 : 3( <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, ______ <br />business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />1 <br />�I <br />
