SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 23, 1977 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 1977 by President. Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Mullen present. Mr. McMahon explained that the purpose of the special meeting was to award bids for the Hotel -Motel Tax Board of Managers for equipment for Century Center. The Board received a recommendation from Brian Hedman and the Hotel -Motel Tax Board of Managers, who will be purchasing the bulk of equipment for Century Center. Also on file are the minutes of the Hotel -Motel Tax Board of Managers' meeting of September 20, 1977, when their recommendation was approved unanimously. The specifications were written so as to solicit quotations from several firms representing manufacturers of different types of chairs. The Board of Managers had the opportunity to review what was available on the market and prices associated with various models. Brian Hedman and Audrey Connelly were present and stated that pieces of equipment were selected for the best use of the money and for what was best from the functional standpoint with respect to the Center's activities. In cases where the type of chair they wanted was offered by more than one manufacturer, the low unit price was the deciding factor. Mr. Hedman indicated a partial award of 24 out of 28 items bid would be recommended. Patrick McMahon made a motion that a written recommendation for the award be submitted for the Board's consideration at their meeting on September 26. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. Dance Floor Bid Award - $24,341.50 SICO, Incorporated Minneapolis, Minnesota Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the above recommendation was approved, subject to written confirmation of the approval of the funding from the Hotel -Motel Board of Managers.
