REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 1977 by President Patrick M. <br />McMahon with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. Mr. Mullen was absent. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes.of the September <br />12 meeting and he made a motion that they be approved as submitted. <br />Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br />Mr. McMahon announced that there would be a special meeting of the Board <br />held on Friday, September 23, 1977 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of <br />considering a recommendation from the Hotel. -Motel Tax Board of Managers <br />to award bids for various Century Center items. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CREST MANOR SEWERS <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of the <br />Crest Manor Sanitary Sewers, Sections One and Two. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - $43,550.00 <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. <br />LaPorte, Indiana <br />Bid - $44,540.00 <br />Taylor Construction Company <br />North Liberty, Indiana <br />Bid - $29,998.90 <br />Marion Hamilton & Son, Inc. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $25 , 049 .50 <br />Bid was signed by Charles T. <br />Dye, non -collusion affidavit was <br />in order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Danny E. Taylor, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Marion Hamilton, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion that the bids be referred to the Division <br />of Engineering for immediate review and tabulation with a report to <br />be made before the meeting adjourns. Mr. Brunner seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - PROSPECT STREET SANITARY SEWERS <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of the <br />Prospect Street Sanitary Sewers. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient.
