JQ <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 1, 1977 <br />REQUEST TO USE BOAT DOCKS AT GENTIJRY CENTER AND MEMORIAL PARK APPROVED <br />Bob Erath Company requested permission to use the docking area at <br />Plaza Park and at Memorial Park for their annual dealer'.s meeting <br />on August 29 and 30, from 9:00 a.m, to 4:00 p.m. They will provide <br />the necessary insurance. Mr. McMahon noted that this is the first <br />such request to be received and he has discussed the procedure with <br />James Seitz, Park Superintendent. In view of the fact that the Board <br />of Public Works handles all such requests for River Bend Plaza, it <br />was felt that this request should come before the Board. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />request was approved, subject to the filing of the certificate of <br />insurance and the concurrence of the Park Department. The Board <br />requested that the Park Department be asked to submit a written <br />recommendation to the Board confirming this procedure. <br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY FILED <br />The Board received requests for information regarding the sale of the <br />following city -owned property: <br />1. 1540 W. Dunham - inquiry from Mary Louise Kurowski <br />2. 922 Fuerbringer - inquiry from William Whitman, on behalf of <br />Hughie Hill <br />3. 1032 DeMaude - inquiry from Linda Lorenz <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon.:;; seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the requests were filed and referred to the Department of Engineering, <br />Parks and Redevelopment for review and a determination as to whether <br />any of the lots should be retained. <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3445 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />A portion of Colfax Street from the west right-of-way line of <br />Adams Street to the east right-of-way line of the north -south <br />alley west of Adams Street, a distance of 100.25 feet. <br />The north -south alley between College Street and Adams Street <br />from the north right-of-way line of Liston Street north to the <br />south right-of-way line of Orange Street, a distance of 395.37 feet. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, <br />including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, <br />gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, <br />within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are released <br />by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by <br />such vacation. <br />Lot Numbers 26, 35, 39 and 40, College Grove Addition <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 5th and 12th day <br />of August, 1977 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County <br />News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 22nd day of August, 1977 at 9:30 <br />o'clock A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons <br />interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />1 <br />
