REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 1, 1977 <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3444 <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Civil City Engineer, files an Assessment <br />Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3444 for the vacation of the <br />north -south alley south of Tutt Street to the east -west alley <br />directly south, and including the aforesaid east -west alley <br />from Main Street to the adjacent alley, City of South Bend. <br />The following lots may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: Lot Numbers 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, 217, <br />218, 219 and 220 in Daniel Garsts 1st Addition. and Lot Numbers <br />259 and 260 in Daniel Garsts Subdivision of Part of Garsts lst <br />Addition. The Board finds that each of said lots have been <br />damaged in the amount of $0.00 and benefited in the amount of $0.00. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried,.the Board filed the Assessment Roll and set it for public <br />hearing on August 22, 1977. + <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended the following traffic control devices for approval: <br />A. Installation of No Parking on both sides of 1700 Longley for <br />200 feet. This is a narrow street with loading docks on the <br />south side and a private residence on the north side. The <br />resident has off-street parking and does not object to the <br />removal of parking. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. <br />B. Tow Away Zone established on south side of,,200 West Bronson <br />opposite the School Administration Building loading dock to <br />supplement the no parking zone. Upon motion made by 1'r. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation <br />was approved. <br />C. No Parking, both sides of Westmoor Street at Bendix Gate 9A <br />to supplement existing yellow curbs surrounding entry and <br />crosswalks. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY ON WALL STREET APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request of Mrs. <br />Pam DeCola to block Wall Street, from Twyckenham to the island <br />at Chester and Wall Street, for a block party on Saturday, August <br />13from 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The Police Department Traffic Detail <br />concurs with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting that there is no <br />objection to the closing. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the Block Party. <br />BID ACCEPTED CONDITIONALLY - WESTERN AVENUE VIADUCT LIGHTING <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />advised the Board that he had reviewed the bids received for the <br />Western Avenue Viaduct Lighting. Arrow Electric Company submitted <br />the low bid of $5,654.20 and the bid met specifications. Mr. <br />Wadzinski recommended that the bid be accepted subject to approval <br />by the Conrail Philadelphia office. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid was awarded to the <br />Arrow Electric Company, at a total price of $5,654.20, subject to <br />approval by Conrail. <br />1 <br />
