SPECIAL MEETING <br />JULX 7, 1977 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />1:15 p.m, on Thursday,'July 7, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, <br />with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present. <br />TENT SALE APPROVED - ESLINGER'S, 2701 SOUTH MICHIGAN <br />The purpose of the special meeting was to consider a request from <br />Eslinger Furniture and Appliances, Inc., 2701 South Michigan Street, <br />to erect a tent and conduct a tent sale from July 8 through July <br />25. The Board received a report from the Fire Inspection Bureau <br />that the tent is flame resistant and has been approved by the Under- <br />writer's Laboratories. It was recommended that fire extinguishers <br />be provided and that 44" aisles should be provided and maintained at <br />all times and that there should be no smoking allowed in the tent <br />at any time. John DeLee, Building Commissioner, submitted a report <br />indicating that the temporary electrical hook-up meets requirements <br />and he recommended approval of the tent sale. Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, advised the Board that <br />his Bureau had no objection to the tent sale, with the following <br />stipulations: 1. The tent remain on the private parking lot. <br />2. No signage or flashing arrows of any type to be placed on the <br />public right-of-way. 3. Any signs used are to be placed close to the <br />ground andlighted signs should be dimmed or directed away from traffic. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the tent sale was approved, subject to the requirements listed above. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the special <br />meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m. <br />,--Pa4(omas. <br />McMahon <br />u Jr. <br />ATTEST: <br />Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />77 <br />
