REGULAR MEETING JUNE 20, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public [.forks was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, <br />with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the June <br />13 meeting and he made a motion the minutes be approved as submitted. <br />Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT RADIO EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for radio equipment for <br />the Police Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Meade Electric Company Bid was signed by Robert Magnetti,. <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted <br />Bid - 28 General Electric Chargers @ 180.00 $5040.00 <br />60 Heavy Duty Batteries @ 44.00 2640.00 <br />1 Cabinet Charger 743.00 <br />1 Standard Charger 250.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bid was referred to the Police Department and to John Hunt, <br />Bureau of Communications, for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SOLID WASTE VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for vehicles for the <br />Solid Waste Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Michiana Mach:. <br />Bid was signed by Ronald I. Del'camp, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - Cab and Chassis - $23,418.00 <br />Pak-Mor Packer 8,535.00 <br />Trade-in - Chassis - $650.00: Packer - $350.00 <br />International Harvester Bid was signed by M. A. Grady, non - <br />collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10io bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - Cab and Chassis - $20,664.19 <br />Packer & Inst. 9,440.00 <br />Trade-in - Chassis - $150.00: Packer - $100.00 <br />Cab and Chassis - $ 8,781.96 <br />Trade-in 200.00 <br />Shamrock Ford Trucks Bid was signed by D. B. McCarthy, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />The Board noted that there was no power of attorney attached to the <br />bid bond submitted by Shamrock Ford. The bid will be read but the <br />Legal Department will research the matter to determine if this is <br />a fatal defect in the bid. If that is the case, the bid will not <br />be considered. <br />
