.J <br />I <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 1977 <br />FILING OF PAYIENT SUIMRY FOPS`..CE�Z UP.Y. CENTEP. - JANUARY, 1977 <br />The Board received a payment summary for payment made on Century <br />Center contracts during January, 1977. The summary indicated <br />payments in the amount of $112,618.00 in January. Total payments <br />to date are in the amount of $3,741.696.97. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the payment <br />summary was filed. <br />NAIII14G OF STREET WEST OF MIAMI ROAD TO BOt]EN DRIVE APPROVED <br />The Board received a letter from Dr. Robert R. Allen, developer of <br />the area west of T'liami Road at the Scottsdale Mall, recommending <br />approval of nar_iing the street running west from Miami Road "Bowen <br />Drive". Dr. Allen submitted with his recomriendation a letter from <br />Governor Bowen indicating his permission for the street naming. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the naming of the street running West from <br />Miami Road at the Scottsdale Mall entrance "Bowen Drive". <br />OPEN AIR STAND APPLICATION APPROVED - OLIVE AND SAMPLE <br />The Board received an application from WEZ7 distributors to operate <br />an open air stand on railroad property at the Olive-Sarzple <br />intersection for the sale of flowers. The stand was in operation <br />last year and the company has a lease with Conrail for the use <br />of the property., The lease.is being mailed from Chicago. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the application, subject to the filing of the <br />lease with the Board and securing the necessary license. <br />rTnmTnv nr, 'D O:nT TTTTOT1 OF STATE' HIGHWAY COMIISSION RE COOPER BRIDGE <br />The Board received a memorandum fron.Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager - <br />of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, advising that the City has been <br />notified by the Indiana State Highway Coryriission that action was <br />taken to temporarily establish preferentiality on the northbound <br />MishaTv7aka Avenue on -ramp to Cooper Bridge, so that traffic on <br />Mishawaka Avenue will stop. Mr..McMahon noted. that this action was <br />being taken in conjunction with the resurfacing of the bridge and <br />that similar action will be taken with regard to the other on -ramps, <br />as the work proceeds. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the Notice. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />The Board received the following applications from River Bend Plaza <br />Director Mary hay Huszar, along with her favorable recommendation. <br />A. Dyngus Day.Celebration on the Plaza on Monday, April 11, 1977. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the application was approved. <br />B. Washington High School Suing Choir on May 4, from 12:15 to 1:00 <br />p.m. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. McMahon <br />and carried the application was approved. <br />RIVER BEIM PLAZA APPLICATION DENIED - JOHN BAUGHMAN <br />The Board received a request from John Baughman to locate a <br />concession stand on River Bend Plaza in the Robertson's block. Mr. <br />McMahon noted that past policy of the Board has been to restrict <br />vendors from operating in this area of the Mall. Mr. McMahon said <br />he would recommend that the application be denied and that Mr. <br />Baughman be asked to re -submit his application for a location in <br />the block North of Jefferson. Mr. Mullen said he agreed and said <br />he would like to study background information regarding the policy <br />established for vendors on the Hall. Mr. Baughman was present and <br />
