237 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 22, 1982 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, March 22, 1982, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn Pfotenhauer. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the minutes of the March 15, 1982, regular meeting of the Board -were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following items were added to the agenda following the handicapped parking permits: 1. List of lots cleaned by the environmental crews as ordered by the Director of the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office. (� 2. Emergency powers used by Board of Works for flood damage repairs. Q OPENING OF BIDS —MAINTENANCE GRADER AND CAB & CHASSIS (STREET DEPT. This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for a maintenance grader, three tandem axle cabs and chassis, and two or more single axle cabs and chassis for the Street Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Reid -Holcomb Co., Inc. Bid was signed by William N. Reid, 3333 W. Coliseum Boulevard non -collusion affidavit was in order, Fort Wayne, Ind. 46808 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Model AB6905 Athey Blade with John Deere 4219D diesel engine maintenance grader (including trade-ins) $31,950.00 ea. Tractor and Equipment Co. Bid was .signed by Martin Cristofano, 10000 S. Ridgeland Ave. non -collusion affidavit was in order, Oak Lawn, Ill. 60454 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Huber Model 850 Maintainer (including trade-ins of $9,525) $30,475.00 ea. Mrs. Pfotenhauer explained that the bid bond of Tractor and Equip- ment Company was not secured by an Indiana surety. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, Tractor and Equipment Company was allowed a 48-hour period in which to submit the proper bid security in order for the Board to consider the bid. McCormick Motors, Inc. Bid was signed by Bernard B. Beer, Nappanee, Ind. 46550 non -collusion affidavit was in order, and a 10% bid bond was submitted. 1982 GPZC Brigadier Model J8C064 Tandem Axle Dump Truck Chassis (including trade-ins of #263, #264 and #265) $38,473.93 ea. (excluding trades) 40,973.93 ea. 1982 GMC Brigadier Model J8C042 Single Axle Dump Truck Chassis (including trade-ins of #257 and #254) 31,597.62 ea. (excluding trades) 34,097.62 ea.
