REGULAR MEETING JUNE 27, 1983 275 1 1 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:32 a.m, on Monday, June 27, 1983, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the minutes of the June 20, 1983 regular meeting of the Board were approved. OPENING OF PROPOSALS FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR SAFETYVILLE Mr. Leszczynski advised that June 20, 1983 was the date set for the receiving and opening of proposals for insurance coverage for Safetyville and its related equipment and materials but the opening of bids was postponed until 9:30 a.m. this date for receipt of additional proposals. The following proposals were opened and publicly read: 1. The Statesman Group $1,930 for the year 1983-84 George John Belland d/b/a Belland Insurance Services 1597 N. Riverside Dr. P.O. Box 1163 South Bend, Indiana 2. Travelers Insurance Co. $ 840.00 for the year 1983-84 Aloysius A. Slaby Waterfield Insurance Agency 1001 E. Jefferson South Bend, Indiana 3. CIGNA Building - $100 deductible James L. Bilinski Rate: $.43 per $100 of value Allied Agency, Inc. Contents & Inventory - $100 413 W. Jefferson deductible P.O. Box 59A Rate: $2.50 per $100 of value South Bend, Indiana Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above proposals were referred to -Mr. Jack Benchik, Treasurer, Mayor's Citizens Traffic Commission and City of South Bend Safety Director, for review and recommendation. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - PURCHASE OF PAINT AND THE INSPECTION AND SPECIFICATION OF THE TYPE OF PAINT. TO BE USED ON DWELLING HOUSES RECEIVING ASSISTANCE UNDER THE NEIGHBORHOOD PAINT -UP PROGRAM This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the purchase of paint and the inspection and specification of the type of paint to be used on dwelling houses receiving assistance under the neighborhood paint -up program. The Clerk tendered.proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: C.E. LEE COMPANY, INC. Bid was signed by William J. Lee, 215 South Main Street Vice President, and Robert Urban, South Bend, Indiana Sales Representative, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a bid bond in the amount of $1,500.00 was submitted. Also submitted was a Technical Assistance Statement and a Non -Discrimination Statement. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $352.42
