2U; <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 2, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m, on Monday, May 2, 1983, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan <br />present._ Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. <br />Pfotenhauer. <br />CANCELLATION OF MAY 9, 1983 BOARD MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that because a quorum of the.Board is <br />not expected at the May 9, 1983 regular meeting, it is recom- <br />mended that that meeting be cancelled. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded .by Mr. Hill and carried, the May 9, <br />1983 meeting of the Board was cancelled. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the minutes of the April 25, 1983, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the consideration of a Community Development contract <br />was added to the agenda. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - STFEET DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the following Street Department Equipment: <br />TWO (2) EACH - TANDEM AXLE CAB AND CHASSIS <br />TWO (2) EACH - ASPHALT ROLLERS (TWO/T11PFE TON STATIC) <br />ONE (1) EACH - ROAD PLANER WITH 42" WLDE CUTTING DRUM <br />TWO (2) EACH - PICK-UPS (ONE/HALF TON) <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />AGGREGATE EQUIPMENT & SUPPLY CO. Bid was signed by James W. <br />811 South Earl Avenue Bremner, Manager, Non -Collusion <br />Lafayette, Indiana 47905 Affidavit was in order and a <br />Certified Check in the amount <br />of $1,554.00 was submitted. <br />2 Maudlin Rollers Model #4000S $4,849.00/ea. $9,698.00 <br />Alternate: <br />2 Maudlin Rollers Model #2-4 ton $7,770.00/ea. $15,540.00 <br />(F.O.B.) <br />DEEDS EQUIPMENT CO., INC. Bid was signed by John K. <br />8015 East 45th Street Brennan, President, Non -Collusion <br />Lawrence, Indiana 46226 Affidavit was in order and a 10% <br />Bid Bond was submitted. <br />2 Mauldin 2-4 Ton Rollers F.O.B <br />INDIANA EQUIPMENT CO., INC. <br />414 West Coliseum Blvd. <br />Fort Wayne, Indiana 46268 <br />1 New Gadion Model RP-42 Rubber <br />Tired Road Planner F.O.B. <br />$8,100.00/ea. <br />Bid was signed by Stanley C. <br />Salomon, President and Gerald A. <br />Guilloz, Vice -President, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in <br />order and a Bid Bond in the <br />amount of 88,400.00 was submitted. <br />$83,995.00 <br />
