REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 24, 1983 APPROVE ENTRANCE CANOPY - MOR4INGSIDE HOTEL Mr. Leszczynski stated that. City Awning of South Bend had requested Board approval of the erection of an entrance canopy at the Morningside Hotel at Colfax and William Streets. Follow- ing a review of the request by the Department of Code Enforce- ment and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting it was determined that the proposal submitted to the Board on January 12, 1983 to erect a canopy above the public sidewalk at the above location is acceptable. Installation of the canopy must comply with drawings submitted with the January 12, 1983 request and legs must be securely anchored to the ground. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request as submitted by City Awning of South Bend was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY Upon a motion rude by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the license application of Tower Federal Savings and Loan Association to operate a public parking facility on part of the southeast corner of Washington and Williams Streets and adjacent lots was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. It was noted that the required Certificate of Insurance was attached to the application. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL An application for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal License was received from Industrial Plant Service, Inc., 2425 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that inspections of the twenty- one (21) trucks to be used by Industrial Plant Service, Inc. had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and they were found to be in compliance. Upon a motion rude by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION AND CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak recommended the Board release the following Excavation and Contractor's Bonds, effective January 24, 1983, as requested: EXCAVATION BOND: Charles 0. Hawkins CONTRACTOR'S BOND: Nick T. Prymak Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bonds were released. FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS A list containing twenty-six (26) lots ordered cleaned by the Director of the Department of Code Enforcement was submitted. It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the environmental list was filed. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following twenty-three (23) handicapped parking permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance: 1
