REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 24, 1983 <br />APPROVE ENTRANCE CANOPY - MOR4INGSIDE HOTEL <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that. City Awning of South Bend had <br />requested Board approval of the erection of an entrance canopy <br />at the Morningside Hotel at Colfax and William Streets. Follow- <br />ing a review of the request by the Department of Code Enforce- <br />ment and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting it was determined <br />that the proposal submitted to the Board on January 12, 1983 <br />to erect a canopy above the public sidewalk at the above <br />location is acceptable. Installation of the canopy must comply <br />with drawings submitted with the January 12, 1983 request and <br />legs must be securely anchored to the ground. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request as submitted by City Awning of South Bend was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - PUBLIC PARKING FACILITY <br />Upon a motion rude by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the license application of Tower Federal Savings <br />and Loan Association to operate a public parking facility on <br />part of the southeast corner of Washington and Williams Streets <br />and adjacent lots was approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's Office for issuance. It was noted that the <br />required Certificate of Insurance was attached to the application. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />An application for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal License was <br />received from Industrial Plant Service, Inc., 2425 Western Avenue, <br />South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that inspections of the twenty- <br />one (21) trucks to be used by Industrial Plant Service, Inc. had <br />been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau and they were found to <br />be in compliance. Upon a motion rude by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above license application <br />was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office <br />for issuance. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION AND CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak recommended the Board release the following <br />Excavation and Contractor's Bonds, effective January 24, 1983, <br />as requested: <br />EXCAVATION BOND: <br />Charles 0. Hawkins <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND: <br />Nick T. Prymak <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bonds were released. <br />FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing twenty-six (26) lots ordered cleaned by the <br />Director of the Department of Code Enforcement was submitted. <br />It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean <br />up the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />environmental list was filed. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following twenty-three (23) handicapped parking <br />permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />office for issuance: <br />1 <br />
