REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1984 <br />4,63 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:40 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 1984, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, and Mr. Richard L. Hill <br />present. Board member Michael L. Vance was not in attendance. <br />Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill, and <br />carried, the minutes of the December 17, 1984, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />APPROVE CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING - TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSE <br />APPLICATION DENIAL (RANDY A. HESS) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that on December 17, 1984, upon the <br />recommendation of City Controller Michael L. Vance, the Taxicab <br />Driver's License application of Mr. Randy A. Hess, 1730 South <br />Kendall Street, South Bend, Indiana, was denied. At that time Mr. <br />Hess was notified in writing of his opportunity to request a <br />public hearing before the Board concerning this matter. Mr. Hess <br />did make such a verbal request and the Public Hearing was <br />scheduled for this date. However, because Mr. Hess did not <br />appear, upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the Public Hearing on this matter was <br />continued until 9:30 a.m., Monday, January 7, 1985. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE <br />(1) <br />OR MORE STREET SWEEPERS <br />This was the date set <br />for <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for <br />the above referred to <br />equipment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice <br />News which were found <br />in <br />to <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />be sufficient. The following bids were <br />opened and publicly read: <br />M-B COMPANY, INC. OF WISCONSIN <br />1615 Wisconsin Avenue <br />P.O. Box 10 <br />New Holstein, WI 53061 <br />Declined to bid at this time. <br />SCHWARZE INDUSTRIES, INC.
