363 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 10, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 1984, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Michael L..Vance present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the minutes of the September 4, 1984, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />AWARD BIDS AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS <br />1. WASHINGTON TWO-WAY STREET PROJECT <br />2. MONROE PARK PHASE VI PROJECT <br />3. WESTERN AVENUE WALKS AND CURBS PROJECT <br />4. HANDICAP RAMPS PROJECT <br />In letters to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of <br />.Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the follow- <br />ing low bids: <br />1. WASHINGTON TWO-WAY STREET PROJECT <br />Delta Star Electric, Inc. - $25,426.00 <br />1125 South Walnut Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />2. MONROE PARK PHASE VI PROJECT <br />The Robert Henry Corporation - $10,872.50 <br />404 South Frances Street <br />P.O. Box 1407 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />3. WESTERN AVENUE WALKS AND CURBS PROJECT <br />Rieth-Riley Construction - $19,687.50 <br />Company, Inc. <br />P.O. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />4. HANDICAP RAMPS PROJECT <br />Rieth-Riley Construction - $78,817.50 <br />Company, Inc. <br />P.O. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that the bids for the above referred to projects were <br />opened by the Board on September 4, 1984. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that in accordance with the award <br />of these bids, contracts in said amounts were being submitted for <br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the above bids were awarded and the <br />contracts approved, subject to the filing of the appropriate <br />insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds <br />by the above contractors. <br />AWARD BID - LELAND AVENUE SEWER PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau <br />of Public Construction, indicated that he has reviewed the bids <br />received on September 4, 1984 for the above referred to project <br />and recommends that the award be made to Pressure Concrete Construction <br />Company, 315 South Court Street, Florence, Alabama, in the amount of <br />$29,393.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the <br />bid awarded. <br />
