278 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 16, 1984 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:36 a.m, on Monday, July 16, 1984, by President John-E.-Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczvnski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Michael L. Vance <br />present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. <br />Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, a Lease with Option to Purchase Agreement between. the <br />City and Marquette Lease Services, Inc., a Plat of Dedication for <br />Kensington Farms East P.U.D. Farnsworth Drive and a request to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the sale of abandoned <br />vehicles were added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the minutes of the July 9, 1984, regular meeting of the <br />Board were approved. <br />ADOPTION OFRESOLUTIONNO. 15-1984 - ESTABLISHING <br />RATES FOR MUNICIPAL PARKING FACILITIES <br />Mr. Vance advised that this Resolution is being presented today <br />as a result of recent discussions with Memorial Hospital and <br />their request for group rates for their employees and construction <br />workers necessitated by hospital expansion. Mr. Vance emphasized <br />that this resolution does not increase individual rates but adds <br />the group rate schedule. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded <br />by Mr. Vance and carried, the following Resolution No. 15-1984 was <br />approved and adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15-1984 <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-11-7 authorizes the Board of Public <br />Works to fix rates for municipal off-street parking facilities, <br />subject to approval of the Common Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, the desirability of establishing group rates <br />for municipal parking facilities has been determined. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the following parking <br />rates be established for all City -operated flat lots, the <br />Colfax Street Parking Garage and the Jefferson Street <br />Parking Garage: <br />SECTION I. Rates for City -operated flat lots for <br />individual vehicles shall be set as follows: <br />(a) Lot at Western and St. Joseph: $16.00 per month. <br />(b) Lot at Main and Colfax: $17.00 per month. <br />(c) Lot at the Municipal Services facility, 700 <br />block West Sample: $13.00 per month. <br />SECTION II. Rates at the Colfax Street Parking Garage <br />for in ivi ual vehicles shall be set as follows: <br />(a) Per month: <br />$30.00 <br />(b) Per hour: <br />One hour or less <br />.65 <br />Two hours <br />1.10 <br />Three hours <br />1.25 <br />Four hours <br />1.50 <br />Five -eight hours <br />2.00 <br />Nine -twelve hours <br />2.25 <br />After twelve and up to - <br />twenty -four hours <br />2.75 <br />
