A4 REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 1985 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 1985, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Ms. Katherine G. Barnard present. Board member Michael L. Vance was not in attendance. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer,.__..,._ AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, an Agreement with Cole Associates, Inc. for the design of the Riverside Drive, Keller Park Sanitary Sewer and Lift Station was added to the agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a�motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski, and carried, the minutes of the June 17, 1985, regular meeting of the Board were approved. CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING AND RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION: 1ST E/W ALLEY SOUTH OF HURON STREET RUNNING EAST FROM GRANT STREET Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the continuation of the Board's Public Hearing on the above referred to proposed alley vacation. It was noted that the Public Hearing on this matter was continued to this date in order to give Board members an opportunity to visit the site of the proposed alley to be vacated. There being no one present wishing to speak either for or against the above referred to proposed alley vacation, -.upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the continuation of the Public Hearing on this matter was closed. Ms. Barnard advised that she has had an opportunity to visit the site and discovered that the property owners at 521-523 South Brookfield Street, who are opposed to the vacation, would still;. have adequate access to their garage should the alley be vacated. She further advised that the closing of the alley would alleviate the nuisance problem that has developed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Clerk was instructed to forward to the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above referred to alley vacation subject to any and all utility easements. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY: - 1124 NAPIER - 410 E. SOUTH STREET - 840 S. KENTUCKY - 1022 NAPIER - 2317 INDIANA AVENUE - 1237 VAN BUREN Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed bids -for the sale of the:above:� referred to City owned property. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were received:
