A4 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 24, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 1985, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Ms. Katherine G. Barnard <br />present. Board member Michael L. Vance was not in attendance. <br />Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer,.__..,._ <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, an Agreement with Cole Associates, Inc. for the design of <br />the Riverside Drive, Keller Park Sanitary Sewer and Lift Station <br />was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a�motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />and carried, the minutes of the June 17, 1985, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING AND RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY <br />VACATION: 1ST E/W ALLEY SOUTH OF HURON STREET RUNNING EAST FROM <br />GRANT STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />continuation of the Board's Public Hearing on the above referred <br />to proposed alley vacation. It was noted that the Public Hearing <br />on this matter was continued to this date in order to give Board <br />members an opportunity to visit the site of the proposed alley to <br />be vacated. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak either for or against <br />the above referred to proposed alley vacation, -.upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the <br />continuation of the Public Hearing on this matter was closed. <br />Ms. Barnard advised that she has had an opportunity to visit the <br />site and discovered that the property owners at 521-523 South <br />Brookfield Street, who are opposed to the vacation, would still;. <br />have adequate access to their garage should the alley be vacated. <br />She further advised that the closing of the alley would alleviate <br />the nuisance problem that has developed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the Clerk was instructed to forward to <br />the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above <br />referred to alley vacation subject to any and all utility <br />easements. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY: <br />- 1124 NAPIER <br />- 410 E. SOUTH STREET <br />- 840 S. KENTUCKY <br />- 1022 NAPIER <br />- 2317 INDIANA AVENUE <br />- 1237 VAN BUREN <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids -for the sale of the:above:� <br />referred to City owned property. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were <br />received: <br />
