6A6 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 17, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 1984, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Ms. Katherine G. Barnard <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the June 10, 1985, regular meeting of the <br />Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - TEN (10) OR MORE NEW OR USED VEHICLES FOR THE <br />SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT DETECTIVE BUREAU <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for <br />the above referred to vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Board Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer advised that the bid of <br />Avis Rent-A-Car System, Inc., P.O. Box 66466, O'Hare International <br />Airport, Chicago, Illinois, was defective in that the bid did not <br />contain bid security and should therefore be rejected. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the <br />bid of Avis Rent-A-Car was rejected for non-compliance with bid <br />requirements. <br />Additionally, Ms. Pfotenhauer advised that Gurley-Leep, P.O. Box <br />5169, Mishawaka, Indiana, indicated that they decline to bid at <br />this time as they do not have the proper cars to meet <br />specifications. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />THOMAS DODGE OF ORLAND PARK <br />FLEET DEPARTMENT <br />14200 LaGrange Road <br />Orland Park, Illinois 60462 <br />Bid was signed by G.F.
