REGULAR MEETING JUNE 3, 1985 <br />APPROVE OFFER TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY - BUREAU OF HOUSING LOCAL <br />HOMESTEADING PROGRAM - 1125 HARVEY STREET <br />As part of the Bureau of Housing Local Homesteading Program, Mr. <br />Ted Leverman, Assistant Director, Bureau of Housing, presented to <br />the Board for approval an Offer to Purchase Real Property for the <br />property located at 1125 Harvey Street in the amount of <br />$12,500.-00.' It is his recommendation that the purchase -price is <br />reasonable for this property which would fit into the Urban <br />Homesteading Program. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, <br />seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Offer to Purchase <br />Real Property in the amount of $12,500.00 from Rufus and Burnetta <br />H. Bowling for the house at 1125 Harvey Street was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVE PROPOSAL - FINANCING OF MASTER LEASE PURCHASING AGREEMENT <br />Mr. Vance submitted to the Board a Lease Proposal between Security <br />Pacific Leasing Corporation and the City of South Bend, said <br />proposal awarded on May 20, 1985. Mr. Vance negotiated with <br />Security Pacific for a final rate of 7.95% for a term of six (6) <br />years. This is for a maximum of $2,500,000.00 which will be used <br />for fire trucks, equipment for the Street and Park Departments and <br />equipment for the new alley paving program. Upon a motion made by <br />Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />Lease Proposal was approved. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FOOT RACES <br />AND SIMILAR EVENTS - SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to Resolution No. 9-1985, <br />establishing policies and fees for foot races and similar events, <br />adopted by the Board of Public Works on March 4, 1985, The South <br />Bend Tribune, sponsor of the Sunburst Marathon, has fulfilled <br />resolution requirements and the agreement with them is being <br />presented to the Board for execution at this time <br />It was noted that on March 4, 1985, the Board of Public Works <br />approved the date for this event subject to the sponsor meeting <br />all resolution requirements. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the above Agreement with The South Bend Tribune was <br />approved and executed. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON REXFORD DRIVE - <br />(JUNE 15, 1985) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Mrs. Karen Cline, 3605 Rexford Drive, <br />South Bend, Indiana requested permission to conduct a neighborhood <br />block party on Rexford Drive from Hickory Road to Whitehall Drive <br />on June 15, 1985, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON COLLEGE STREET - <br />(JUNE 22, 1985) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board Mr. William H. Frame, 1831 North College <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a <br />neighborhood block party in the 1800 block of North College Street <br />on June 22, 1985, from 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the <br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />
