REGULAR MEETING JUNE 3, 1985 APPROVE OFFER TO PURCHASE REAL PROPERTY - BUREAU OF HOUSING LOCAL HOMESTEADING PROGRAM - 1125 HARVEY STREET As part of the Bureau of Housing Local Homesteading Program, Mr. Ted Leverman, Assistant Director, Bureau of Housing, presented to the Board for approval an Offer to Purchase Real Property for the property located at 1125 Harvey Street in the amount of $12,500.-00.' It is his recommendation that the purchase -price is reasonable for this property which would fit into the Urban Homesteading Program. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Offer to Purchase Real Property in the amount of $12,500.00 from Rufus and Burnetta H. Bowling for the house at 1125 Harvey Street was approved and executed. APPROVE PROPOSAL - FINANCING OF MASTER LEASE PURCHASING AGREEMENT Mr. Vance submitted to the Board a Lease Proposal between Security Pacific Leasing Corporation and the City of South Bend, said proposal awarded on May 20, 1985. Mr. Vance negotiated with Security Pacific for a final rate of 7.95% for a term of six (6) years. This is for a maximum of $2,500,000.00 which will be used for fire trucks, equipment for the Street and Park Departments and equipment for the new alley paving program. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above Lease Proposal was approved. APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FOOT RACES AND SIMILAR EVENTS - SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to Resolution No. 9-1985, establishing policies and fees for foot races and similar events, adopted by the Board of Public Works on March 4, 1985, The South Bend Tribune, sponsor of the Sunburst Marathon, has fulfilled resolution requirements and the agreement with them is being presented to the Board for execution at this time It was noted that on March 4, 1985, the Board of Public Works approved the date for this event subject to the sponsor meeting all resolution requirements. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Agreement with The South Bend Tribune was approved and executed. REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON REXFORD DRIVE - (JUNE 15, 1985) REFERRED In a letter to the Board Mrs. Karen Cline, 3605 Rexford Drive, South Bend, Indiana requested permission to conduct a neighborhood block party on Rexford Drive from Hickory Road to Whitehall Drive on June 15, 1985, from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY ON COLLEGE STREET - (JUNE 22, 1985) REFERRED In a letter to the Board Mr. William H. Frame, 1831 North College Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a neighborhood block party in the 1800 block of North College Street on June 22, 1985, from 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
