REGULAR MEETING MAY 28, 1985 <br />APPROVE LAND CONTRACT AGREEMENT - FREEMAN-SPICER COMPANY, INC. <br />(STUDEBAKER COLLECTION) <br />A Land Contract Agreement was presented to the Board between <br />Freeman -Spicer Company, Inc. and the City of South Bend. Mr. <br />Vance advised that this is for the purchase of.the property <br />commonly known as 520 S. Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, <br />the location of the Studebaker Collection and Discover Hall <br />Museum, Inc. The city is currently leasing this property and Mr. <br />Vance stated that it isin the best interest of the City to ; <br />purchase it by Land Contract because this will guarantee space for <br />the collection to allow it to be shown and be open to the public. <br />Mr. Vance also advised that the Agreement can be terminated by <br />giving ninety (90) days notice should abetter location be found. <br />The purchase price shall be in the sum of $480,000.00 plus <br />interest at the rate of 8% APR and shall be paid in 120 equal <br />monthly payments of $5,823.72, with the first payment due June 1, <br />1985, and the remaining payments due on the 1st day of each month <br />thereafter. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the above Land Contract Agreement was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTH APPLICATIONS <br />In a letter to the Board Ms. Mikki Dobski, Director of Community <br />Affairs, submitted to the Board Ethnic Festival booth applications <br />and recommends approval as follows: <br />CRAFT BOOTHS <br />44 <br />FOOD BOOTHS <br />47 <br />(5 subject to menu <br />modification) <br />DISPLAY BOOTHS <br />10 <br />Further, Ms. Dobski recommended <br />that <br />the following food and craft <br />booths be denied due to duplication, <br />being commercial or not a <br />hand-crafted item: <br />FOOD: Bruno's Original Pizza, South Bend, Indiana <br />North Liberty Lions Club, North Liberty, Indiana <br />William E. Beam, 331 Church St., Argos, Indiana <br />Diana Hensell, 54035 N. Ironwood, South Bend, Indiana <br />CRAFT: Ken Schneider, 2366 Park, Eau Claire, Michigan <br />Paul L. Cornell, 1204 W. Thomas, South Bend, Indiana <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, Ms. Dobski's recommendations were accepted and approved. <br />Therefore, the Ethnic Festival Booth applications approved are as <br />follows: <br />CRAFT BOOTHS - 44 <br />Gerry McGee <br />Maurice J.
