Vance ATTEST: s/Maryrose Putz, Acting Clerk ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 14-1985 - CHANGING THE NAME OF HOPE AVENUE TO BENTLEY AVENUE Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that a section of Hope Avenue, approximately 120 feet, is connected to Bentley Avenue and in order to aid the response time of the Police and Fire Departments it would be advisable for the street to have the same name throughout. He indicated there are no residents on this portion of the street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the following Resolution No. 14-1985 was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 14-1985 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CHANGING THE NAME OF HOPE AVENUE TO BENTLEY AVENUE WHEREAS, Hope Avenue runs in an easterly direction from Victory Street for a distance of approximately 120 feet; and WHEREAS, Hope Avenue flows into a private drive within Corby Apartment Complex known as Bentley Avenue; WHEREAS, residential units located on the private drive within Corby Apartment Complex have been assigned "Bentley Avenue" addresses; and WHEREAS, having two names for what appears to be one continuous street has resulted in confusion to the motoring public and to emergency vehicles. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the name of Hope Avenue be changed to Bentley Avenue. Adopted this 22nd day of April, 1985.
