_)1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 19, 1985 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 1985, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEMS STRICKEN <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the matter of the Award of Bid for the Rental of New <br />Uniforms for Various Bureaus and Departments within the City of <br />South Bend and the Filing of the Environmental Clean -Up of Lots <br />Report were stricken from the agenda. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the award of one (1) Class "A" Triple Combination <br />motorized Fire Apparatus was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the February 11, 1985, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - EAST RACE FENCE PROJECT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for <br />the above referred to project. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the <br />Engineer's Estimate for this project is $22,604.00. The Clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Board Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer advised that the bid <br />received from North Side Feed, 1112 North Main, Mishawaka, <br />Indiana, was defective as the bid document (Form 96) was not <br />completely filled out or signed and it should therefore be <br />rejected. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the bid of North Side Feed was rejected for <br />non-compliance with bid requirements. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />MC DOUGAL ENTERPRISES, INC. BID: $10,969.30 <br />D/B/A SCHUELL FENCE COMPANY <br />22377 Adams Road <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Bid was signed by Toni B. McDougal, President/Treasurer and <br />Bruce G. McDougal, Vice President/Secretary, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />UEBELE, INC. BID: $21,504.32 <br />402 Jackson Street <br />LaPorte, Indiana 46350 <br />Bid was signed by Herman Uebele, Jr., President and Dana L. <br />Peterson, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and <br />a Certified Check in the amount of $1,075.21 was submitted. <br />CAL -PRO FENCE COMPANY, INC. BID: $14,848.60 <br />(FORMERLY PROJECT FENCE COMPANY) <br />50820 U. S. 33 North <br />South Bend, Indiana 46637-2094 <br />Bid was signed by Duaine P. Hesch, President and Dale Marie <br />Schmidt, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a <br />Certified Check in the amount of $742.43 was submitted. <br />
