Johnson, Agent, Non -Collusion Affidavit <br />was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />35 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria <br />S Model 4 door sedans $11,283.72 ea. _ $394,930.20 <br />35 Rustproofing Item A <br />65.00 ea. = 2,275.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Police Department for <br />review and recommendation. . <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - S.E. <br />CORNER OF LELAND AND MARION STREETS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale of City -owned <br />property at the southeast corner of Leland and Marion Street. Mr. <br />Leszczynski stated that the property for sale consists of four (4) <br />parcels of residue property approximately 94 feet by 100 feet. <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the property has an appraisal <br />value of $375.00. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bid was received: <br />MR. RONALD E. GORDON Bid: $400.00 <br />529 Lincolnway West <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that Mr. Gordon owns Lot 26 and part of Lot 25 on <br />Lincolnway West adjacent to the above referred to property. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the bid of Mr. Ronald Gordon in the amount of $400.00 was <br />accepted, and the matter referred to the City Attorney's office <br />for the drafting of the appropriate Purchase Agreement. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, RECISSION OF PRIOR DENIAL AND APPROVAL OF TAXICAB <br />DRIVER'S LICENSE APPLICATION - RANDY A. HESS <br />Mr. Randy A. Hess, 1730 South Kendall Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested a Public Hearing and appeared before the Board <br />concerning the December 17, 1984 Board denial of his application <br />for a Taxicab Driver's License. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised Mr. Hess that the denial of the <br />application was based on the failure of Mr. Hess to answer the <br />question "Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor?" <br />completely. <br />Mr. Hess stated that he did answer yes to the question. Mr. Hill <br />advised that even though Mr. Hess did answer affirmative to the <br />question, the only reference made was that of child support. The <br />Police Department records check revealed the following <br />convictions: minor attempting to purchase intoxicants with false <br />I.D. in St. Joseph, Michigan on December 29, 1964; failure to <br />appear on Traffic Warrant in Los Angeles, California on August 30, <br />1966; vagrancy in Miami Beach, Florida on April 14, 1967 and drunk <br />and disorderly in Niles, Michigan on October 8, 1968. Mr. Hess <br />stated that he does not deny these charges but did not remember <br />the dates. It was noted that the most recent charge was in 1968. <br />
