6. <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 1986 <br />Mr. Leszczynski inquired of Mr. Bajer if he was aware that should <br />the alley be vacated one-half of the alley would become the <br />property of Ms. Bell and that vacating the alley means that it is <br />closed to public use but could still be used by the property <br />owner for access purposes. Mr. Bajer stated that he was not <br />aware of that fact and therefore there would be no objection to <br />the vacation of the alley. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or <br />against the proposed vacation, and no written objections having <br />been filed with the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the Public Hearing on this <br />matter was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. <br />DeClercq and carried, the Clerk was instructed to forward to the <br />Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above referred <br />to alley vacations subject to any and all utility easements. <br />OPENTNG OF <br />ITH <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />BEST EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. <br />2804 North Catherwood <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46219 <br />Bid was signed by Norman G. Dahlmann, President, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: <br />One Elgin Trailwind Vacuum Sweeper in <br />accordance with specifications $47,000.00 <br />F.O.B. South Bend, Indiana <br />OPTIONS: <br />Salt Spreader $3,995.00 <br />Snow Plow 2,435.00 <br />Wandering Hose 1,585.00 <br />Delivery: Approximately 3-4 weeks after <br />receipt of order. <br />DEEDS EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. <br />8015 East 45th Street <br />Lawrence, Indiana 46226 <br />Bid was signed by John K.
