c)13 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 1986 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF SIMON BROTHERS, INC. FOR ON -STREET PARKING IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH FOOD AND CULINARY ARTS SHOW - SEPTEMBER 20-21 <br />1986 <br />Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering, advised <br />that Simon Brothers, Inc., 1901 Bendix Drive, P.O. Box 3848, <br />South Bend, Indiana, has requested on -street parking in the <br />immediate vicinity of their facility located at 1901 Bendix Drive <br />on September 20-21, 1986, in conjunction with their annual Food <br />and Culinary Arts Show. Mr. Pluta further advised that upon <br />review of the above request, the Engineering Department <br />recommends approval. He stated that the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting will cover signs only in front of 1901 Bendix Drive. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. REMOVAL OF SNOW ROUTE - Ardmore Trail, L.W.W. to <br />Sheridan. (No Parking was Installed). <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering <br />Department, recommended that the <br />Contractor's Bond for Thomas P. Geldner <br />d/b/a/ Brothers <br />Construction Co., be approved effective <br />September 16, 1986. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Ms. Barnard and <br />carried, the above Contractor's Bond <br />was approved. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - <br />AUGUST <br />The Humane Society report for the <br />month of August indicated the <br />following matters handled for the <br />City -of South Bend: <br />DOGS HANDLED: <br />234 <br />CATS HANDLED: <br />318 <br />OTHER ANIMALS HANDLED: <br />153 <br />BITE CASES HANDLED: <br />16 <br />COMPLAINTS HANDLED: <br />217 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the above report as submitted was accepted and <br />filed. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of one hundred forty-eight (148) properties cleaned from <br />September 5, 1986 to September 11, 1986, was submitted. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the report as submitted was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket <br />No. 024586 through Claim Docket No. 024992 and recommended <br />approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report <br />filed. <br />
