c)13 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 16, 1986 APPROVE REQUEST OF SIMON BROTHERS, INC. FOR ON -STREET PARKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH FOOD AND CULINARY ARTS SHOW - SEPTEMBER 20-21 1986 Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering, advised that Simon Brothers, Inc., 1901 Bendix Drive, P.O. Box 3848, South Bend, Indiana, has requested on -street parking in the immediate vicinity of their facility located at 1901 Bendix Drive on September 20-21, 1986, in conjunction with their annual Food and Culinary Arts Show. Mr. Pluta further advised that upon review of the above request, the Engineering Department recommends approval. He stated that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting will cover signs only in front of 1901 Bendix Drive. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above recommendation was accepted and the request approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: 1. REMOVAL OF SNOW ROUTE - Ardmore Trail, L.W.W. to Sheridan. (No Parking was Installed). APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND Mr. Melvin Humphrey, Engineering Department, recommended that the Contractor's Bond for Thomas P. Geldner d/b/a/ Brothers Construction Co., be approved effective September 16, 1986. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above Contractor's Bond was approved. FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY REPORT - AUGUST The Humane Society report for the month of August indicated the following matters handled for the City -of South Bend: DOGS HANDLED: 234 CATS HANDLED: 318 OTHER ANIMALS HANDLED: 153 BITE CASES HANDLED: 16 COMPLAINTS HANDLED: 217 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and carried, the above report as submitted was accepted and filed. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of one hundred forty-eight (148) properties cleaned from September 5, 1986 to September 11, 1986, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as submitted was filed. APPROVE CLAIMS Deputy City Controller Carol M. Sanders submitted Claim Docket No. 024586 through Claim Docket No. 024992 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the claims were approved and the report filed.
