<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - STATE THEATRE RE -ROOFING AND
<br />MISCELLANEOUS REPAIRS PROJECT
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the August 12,
<br />1986, award of the bid of Slatile Roofing & Sheet Metal Company,
<br />Inc., 1703 South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana, for the
<br />above referred to project, the Construction Contract in the
<br />amount of $64,750.00 is being submitted for Board approval. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the Contract was approved, subject to the filing of the
<br />appropriate insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials
<br />Payment Bond.

<br />JEFFERSON & THOMAS STREETS CURB & WALK REPAIR PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau
<br />of Public Construction, recommended that the Board accept the low
<br />bid of Murdock & Sons Construction, Inc., 1320 South Franklin
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $71,719.50 for the
<br />above referred to project. It was noted that bids for this
<br />project were opened by the Board on August 12, 1986. Mr.
<br />Leszczynski further advised that in accordance with the award of
<br />this bid, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board
<br />approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Ms.
<br />Barnard and carried, the above bid was awarded, the Contract
<br />approved, and the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond and
<br />Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were accepted for
<br />filing.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SAMPLE STREET
<br />PAVEMENT REPAIRS PROJECT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager, Bureau of
<br />Public Construction, requested that the Board advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Shanahan
<br />advised that this project entails the repair of the asphalt
<br />pavement on Sample Street from Arnold to Grant Streets. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard and
<br />carried, the request was approved.
<br />APPROVE RELEASE OF RIGHTS AND EASEMENTS TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN
<br />FACILITIES (COVELESKI STADIUM)
<br />Mr. Joseph J. Pluta, Director, Division of Engineering, submitted
<br />to the Board for acceptance and approval the Release of Rights
<br />and Easements to Construct and Maintain Facilities. The document
<br />indicates that the City is entitled to the use of easements
<br />reserved by the City of South Bend, in Ordinance No. 7643-86
<br />which rights -of -way and easements are reserved in Section II
<br />relating to former streets and alley, therein vacated. It
<br />further stated that the project known as the Stanley Coveleski
<br />Regional Stadium Project is located on a portion of the property
<br />constituting the Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium and because
<br />the City has no need for the rights and easements reserved to it
<br />in said ordinance, the City releases all rights and easements and
<br />agrees never to use in any manner or for any purpose the rights
<br />and easements reserved to itself in Ordinance No. 7643-86 on the
<br />property described as a part of Vail's Southwest Addition to
<br />South Bend, more particularly described in the legal description
<br />included in the document. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms.
<br />Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the Release of Rights
<br />and Easements to Construct and Maintain Facilities was accepted
<br />and approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT GREAT PEACE MARCH - AUGUST 23, 1986
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Roger Voelker, Indiana State
<br />Coordinator, The Great Peace March for Global Nuclear
<br />Disarmament, Inc., 10814 Dunn Road, Osceola, Indiana, advised
<br />that on Saturday, August 23, 1986, The Great Peace March will be
