iW <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 19. 1986 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:34 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 1986, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Ms. Katherine G. Barnard <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />and carried, the minutes of the August 12, 1986, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) 1987 TYPE I MODULAR AMBULANCE FOR SOUTH <br />BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />ST. IVES, INC. <br />828 Warehouse Road, Unit 7 <br />Toledo, Ohio <br />Bid was signed by Fritz Grossman, President, Non -Collusion <br />Affidavit was in order and an Official Check in the amount of <br />$4,900.00 was submitted. <br />BID: <br />1 1986 First Response Type 1 Modular <br />Ambulance per City of South Bend Specs $44,895.00 <br />Optional Equipment (Per Specs) 3,856.00 <br />Less Trade In-2,500.00 <br />Total Price for 1986 Type 1 Ambulance $46,251.00 <br />1987 First Response Type 1 Modular <br />with Same Specs as Above $47,251.00 <br />ALPHA-MED. INCORPORATED <br />3969 Meadows Drive <br />Indianapolis, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Michael A. Lanning, Non -Collusion Affidavit <br />was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: <br />1 1987 Chevrolet C-30 Type I Ambulance <br />Built by Collins Industries to Federal, <br />State, and South Bend specifications. $52,000.00 <br />Payment as Specified. If paid C.O.D., <br />Deduct $1,000.00. <br />Ford F-350 Type I Ambulance, Deduct 12,100.00, <br />Roof as well as Sides is 0.125 Aluminum. <br />Suction is Electric, not manifold, providing <br />more Reliable Service, and Consistency. <br />See Enclosed Descriptive Literature and <br />Test Documents. <br />Delivery 60-90 Days from Receipt of Chassis <br />(Ford Chassis Presently in Stock Awaiting <br />Conversion). <br />
