1190 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 11, 1986 <br />referred to City -owned property. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were received: <br />1608 1/2 PRAIRIE <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that one (1) bid has been received <br />from Mr. Richard Cannady, 2819 Detroit Road, Niles, Michigan <br />in the amount of $450.00. It was noted that the <br />property has an appraisal value of $650.00. It was further <br />noted that Mr. Cannady owns property abutting the lot at <br />1608 1/2 Prairie Avenue. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the offer of $450.00 for the property at <br />1608 1/2 Prairie Avenue was accepted and the matter referred <br />to the City Attorney's office for the drafting of the <br />appropriate Purchase Agreement. <br />424 EAST SOUTH STREET <br />508 EAST SOUTH STREET <br />510 EAST SOUTH STREET <br />610 SOUTH FELLOWS STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that South Bend Heritage Foundation <br />Foundation, 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, has <br />submitted bids for the above referred to City -owned lots as <br />follows: <br />424 East South Street $350.00 <br />508 East South Street $385.00 <br />510 East South Street $385.00 <br />610 South Fellows Street $275.00 <br />It was noted that the amounts offered were equal to the appraised <br />value of the properties. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the bids as submitted were accepted and approved and the <br />matter referred to the City Attorney's Office for the drafting of <br />the appropriate Purchase Agreements. <br />Mr. Stephen Luecke, Director, Monroe Park Office, South Bend <br />Heritage Foundation, 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, <br />thanked the Board for awarding the above referred to lots in <br />Monroe Park to South Bend Heritage for their new construction <br />project. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION: 1ST <br />N/S ALLEY E. OF KOSCIUSZKO ST. RUNNING SO. FROM WESTERN AVE. TO <br />1ST INTERSECTING E/W ALLEY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the <br />Board's Public Hearing on a proposed alley vacation described as <br />the first north/south alley east of Kosciuszko Street running <br />south from Western Avenue to the lst intersecting east/west alley <br />for a distance of 102 feet more or less, all being in the J.M. <br />Studebaker Sub of Lot One (1) Harper and Ruckman survey within <br />the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />It was noted that this Public Hearing is being held in order for <br />the Board to submit a recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning the Vacation Petition filed by Mr. Vendel Vegh, 1530 <br />Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana and Mr. G.R. Jrjanosko, <br />Assistant Vice -President, Norfolk Southern Corporation, 8 North <br />Jefferson Street, Roanoke, Virginia.
