L e <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 6, 1986 <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. BID: $113,078.40 <br />P.O. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Bid was signed by Richard A. Jankowski, Area Manager, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />MC INTYRE & JONES CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. BID: $109,969.58 <br />2526 West 6th Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />Bid was signed by Kenneth A. McIntyre, President and Dorothy <br />McIntyre, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and <br />a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar advised that the bid submitted by <br />Gaines Construction Company, Inc., 217 West Washington Center <br />Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802 was fatally defective in that the <br />bid was not signed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. <br />Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the bid of Gaines <br />Construction Company, Inc., was rejected. <br />Further, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the above bids were referred to the <br />Engineering Department for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ADDITIONAL STREET MATERIALS FOR THE SOUTH BEND <br />STREET DEPARTMENT FOR 1986 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the additional street materials for the South Bend Street <br />Department for 1986. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />BITUMINOUS MATERIALS CO., INC. <br />P.O. Box 1295 <br />Warsaw, Indiana 46580 <br />Bid was signed by Philip Ehrman, Vice -President, <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was <br />submitted. <br />BID: <br />Bituminous Mat. -Dust Palative <br />175,000 gal. .3745/ea. _ $65,537.50 <br />Delivered to Bureau of Streets tank. <br />Emulsified Asphalt - AE-905 <br />(Styrelf) for sealing <br />100,000 gal. .8745/ea. _ $87,450.00 <br />Delivered to Vendor's tank. <br />The bid of Bituminous indicated that bidder shall <br />have the right to increase the contract unit price <br />in an amount equal to the bidder's increase in cost <br />of materials and supplies occurring subsequent to <br />the date on which such bid is submitted (hereinafter <br />referred to as "base date") to the Board having <br />authority to award contracts. Any increase (or <br />decrease) in the bidder's cost of materials and <br />supplies after the base date shall be determined <br />monthly, and shall be verified by proper documents <br />furnished to the responsible awarding Board which <br />shall include proof of price to the bidder from <br />the bidder's source of supply. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
