<br />REGULAR MEETING
<br />MARCH 18, 1986
<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
<br />9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 1986, by President John E.
<br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Ms. Katherine G.°Barnard
<br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy
<br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar.
<br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard
<br />and carried, a request to advertise for the receipt of bids for
<br />Street Department materials was added to the agenda.
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, seconded by Mr. Vance and
<br />carried, the minutes of the March 11, 1986, regular meeting of
<br />the Board were approved.
<br />OPENING OF BIDS - APPROXIMATELY EIGHT (8) NEW OR USED VEHICLES
<br />FOR THE 1986 SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT DETECTIVE BUREAU FLEET
<br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids
<br />for the above referred to vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of
<br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the
<br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following
<br />bids were opened and publicly read:

<br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was

<br />8 - The following used vehicles are available to South Bend
<br />PD. They are currently in service with American Interna-
<br />tional Rent A Car in Champaign, Illinois. Vehicles
<br />generally meet specs and at a minimum have the following
<br />equipment: larger than standard engine, automatic, power
<br />steering, power brakes, AM radio, rear defroster, and any
<br />free fleet equipment offered by the respective manufacturer
<br />in that model year. Jack and tools will be cleaned, in
<br />proper running condition, and delivered to South Bend.
