C* <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 14, 1986 <br />ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION, INC. <br />1005 South Lafayette <br />Box 1106 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, President and Roberta <br />Ziolkowski, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />BID: <br />General Restoration <br />Main Street Garage #1 $27,890.00 <br />St. Joe Garage #2 27,890.00 <br />Total <br />ALT #1 <br />Main Street Garage #1 13,900.00 <br />St. Joe Garage #2 13,900.00 <br />Total <br />ALT #2 - Deduct or Add <br />(Sand Blasting or Chemical Cleaning) <br />Main St. Garage #1 NO BID <br />St. Joe Garage #2 NO BID <br />$55,780.00 <br />$27,800.00 <br />Board Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer, advised that the bid <br />submitted by Universal Painting Company, Inc., P.O. Box 4141, <br />South Bend, Indiana, contained a fatal defect in that the bid <br />document was not signed. She recommended, therefore, that the <br />Board reject the bid. Upon a motion made by Ms. Barnard, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the bid of Universal Painting <br />Company, Inc. was rejected. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Barnard <br />and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering <br />Department for review and recommendation. It was noted that the <br />specifications for this project contained the requirement that <br />this project must be completed by May 15, 1986. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids for the sale of approximately twenty-seven (27) abandoned <br />vehicles, all of which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto <br />& Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient.
