40 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 17, 1987 <br />APPROVE MODIFICATION OF LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND AND SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATER, INC. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Modification of Lease Agreement <br />submitted to the Board today allows the South Bend Civic Theater, <br />Inc. to repair the doors to the building located at 701 Portage <br />Avenue at its expense, subject to prior approval by the City <br />Engineer. <br />It was noted that pursuant to Paragraph #8 of the Lease Agreement <br />between the City and South Bend Civic Theater, Inc., as it <br />relates to the real property known as 701 Portage Avenue, all <br />alterations must be approved in writing by the Board of Public <br />Works. It was further noted that the repair will eliminate or <br />reduce the possibility of burglary or vandalism. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above referred to Modification of Lease <br />Agreement was approved and executed. <br />PETITION FOR RESTRICTED RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE - 1400 BLOCK <br />WALL STREET - REFERRED <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mrs. Sue Lamie, 1417 Wall Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, has submitted to the Board a Petition for a <br />restricted residential parking zone in the 1400 block of Wall <br />Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Vance and carried, the Petition was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting in order that a traffic study of the area <br />can be conducted. <br />APPROVE REQUEST <br />ABANDONED VEHICI <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE ( <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above request was <br />approved and a date of December 1, 1987 was established for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of thirty-seven (37) properties cleaned from November 9, <br />1987 to November 13, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The report submitted to the Board indicated a total of one <br />hundred forty-five (145) street light outages reported during the <br />month of October. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the report as submitted <br />was filed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. John W. Ferguson, Executive Director, St. Joseph County Job <br />Training Program, submitted a list containing sixty-six (66) <br />claims and recommended approval. Additionally, City Controller <br />Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 16465 through Claim <br />Docket No. 16669 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the claims were <br />approved and the reports as submitted were filed. <br />1 <br />[I <br />L <br />
