A.�. 6 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 29, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the new Contract amount <br />including the Change Orders listed above is $1,002,820.48. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the above listed Change Orders were approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately eighteen (18) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved <br />and a date of October 13, 1987 was established for the receiving <br />and opening of sealed bids. <br />FILING OF CITY'S CONCERNS TO INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mayor Roger 0. Parent has sent a <br />letter to Mr. Jim Ellison, Indiana Michigan Power Company, P.O. <br />Box 1731, South Bend, Indiana, outlining the City's concerns <br />regarding street light service. The letter outlined four (4) <br />major areas of poor service as well as repair report <br />discrepancies and statistics. Mr. Leszczynski further advised <br />that Mr. Ellison has responded to the letter and indicated that <br />he was not aware of some of the problems outlined. A meeting <br />with Mr. Ellison will be scheduled to go over complaints and <br />other miscellaneous data. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the letter of the Mayor as <br />indicated above was accepted by the Board for filing. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of eighty-two (82) properties cleaned from September 21, <br />1987 to September 25, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made by <br />Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />AP <br />OF <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE - LEFT TURN SIGNAL AT INTERSECTION <br />S <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION OF LEFT TURN SIGNAL FOR EAST & WEST <br />BOUND TRAFFIC - On Ireland @ York. <br />It should be noted that concerned residents of the 5th District <br />filed a Petition with the Board on June 23, 1987, requesting that <br />the Board review the matter of traffic signalization at the <br />intersection of Ireland and York Roads. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 14185 <br />through Claim Docket No. 14433 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, <br />the claims were approved and the report filed. <br />
