A.�. 6 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 29, 1987 Mr. Leszczynski further advised that the new Contract amount including the Change Orders listed above is $1,002,820.48. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above listed Change Orders were approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately eighteen (18) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the above request was approved and a date of October 13, 1987 was established for the receiving and opening of sealed bids. FILING OF CITY'S CONCERNS TO INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mayor Roger 0. Parent has sent a letter to Mr. Jim Ellison, Indiana Michigan Power Company, P.O. Box 1731, South Bend, Indiana, outlining the City's concerns regarding street light service. The letter outlined four (4) major areas of poor service as well as repair report discrepancies and statistics. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that Mr. Ellison has responded to the letter and indicated that he was not aware of some of the problems outlined. A meeting with Mr. Ellison will be scheduled to go over complaints and other miscellaneous data. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the letter of the Mayor as indicated above was accepted by the Board for filing. FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a total of eighty-two (82) properties cleaned from September 21, 1987 to September 25, 1987, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the report as submitted was filed. AP OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE - LEFT TURN SIGNAL AT INTERSECTION S Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was approved: 1. NEW INSTALLATION OF LEFT TURN SIGNAL FOR EAST & WEST BOUND TRAFFIC - On Ireland @ York. It should be noted that concerned residents of the 5th District filed a Petition with the Board on June 23, 1987, requesting that the Board review the matter of traffic signalization at the intersection of Ireland and York Roads. APPROVE CLAIMS City Controller Michael L. Vance submitted Claim Docket No. 14185 through Claim Docket No. 14433 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the claims were approved and the report filed.
