ORDINANCE NO. j 01') '(Q H LP <br />BILL NO. 56_✓ (O <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, RE- AFFIRMING ORDINANCE NO. 10333 -14 AND FIXING THE <br />ANNUAL PAY AND MONETARY FRINGE BENEFITS OF SWORN MEMBERS OF THE <br />SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2017 <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The South Bend Common Council, pursuant to Indiana Code § 36- 8 -3 -3, established the annual <br />compensation and monetary fringe benefits of the South Bend Common Council following successful <br />labor negotiations with representatives of South Bend Firefighter's Local Union No. 362 in 2014. The <br />total wage, monetary fringe benefits and working conditions package was ratified by voting members of <br />the Fire Union which resulted in the South Bend Common Council passing Ordinance No. 10333 -14 on <br />October 27, 2014. <br />Ordinance No. 10333 -14 set forth the provisions of a 3 -year agreement establishing the annual pay and <br />monetary fringe benefits for calendar years 2015, 2016, and 2017, and also established maximum annual <br />pay and monetary fringe benefits for upper level policy making positions in the South Bend Fire <br />Department as defined in Indiana Code § 36- 8 -1 -12. <br />This ordinance formally re- affirms all provisions of Ordinance No. 10333 -14 in its entirety for the 2017 <br />calendar year. <br />i <br />Section I. The annual pay and monetary fringe benefits established for all sworn members of the South <br />Bend Fire Department, including all upper level policy making positions in the Department, are hereby <br />fixed and re- affirmed for the 2017 calendar year. The annual pay and monetary fringe benefits were <br />originally established in Ordinance No. 10333 -14 by the South Bend Common Council, when it passed <br />said ordinance on October 27, 2014. A copy of Ordinance No. 10333 -14 is attached hereto and included <br />herein by reference. <br />Section II.
