REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 21, 1987 <br />provide approximately three hundred and fifty (350) full and <br />part-time jobs when fully occupied and during the eight (8) to <br />ten (10) months of construction will provide one hundred twenty <br />(120) to one hundred fifty (150) jobs. <br />Mr. Morgan stated that as statutory criteria have been met and <br />the vacation would not have any adverse impact, he would ask that <br />the Board grant the Petition as submitted. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or <br />against the proposed vacation, and no written objections having <br />been filed with the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Vance and carried, the Public Hearing on this <br />matter was closed. <br />Mr. Vance stated that he is happy to have the construction of <br />this shopping complex take place in South Bend and welcomes the <br />center. Therefore, he made a motion that the Clerk forward to <br />the Common Council a favorable recommendation on the above <br />referred to street vacations subject to the dedication of <br />sufficient public right-of-way to accommodate a forty (40) foot <br />turning radius or approved turn -around as recommended by the City <br />Engineer's office and subject to any and all utility easements. <br />Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the Board's adoption of <br />Resolution No. 6-1987 on March 31, 1987, authorizing the disposal <br />of miscellaneous items, this was the date set for receiving and <br />opening of sealed bids for the items referred to in said <br />Resolution. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. As no bids were received for the items <br />offered for sale, Mr. Vance made a motion that permission be <br />granted to negotiate for the sale of these items. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids for the sale of approximately twenty (20) abandoned vehicles <br />which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage <br />and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient.
