5.8 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 3, 1987 <br />of the Rum Village Industrial Park. He stated that several <br />parcels of property in that area are landlocked between railroad <br />tracks and the only access to them is to construct a right-of-way <br />off Olive Street west into Rum Village Park. <br />In response to Mr. Leszczynski's inquiry of who prepared the <br />legal descriptions contained in the Resolution, Mr. Pocius <br />advised that they were prepared by Mr. Kenneth Herceg of Ken <br />Herceg & Associates, Inc. Mr. Leszczynski further inquired if <br />the City Engineering Department has had an opportunity to review <br />the legal descriptions contained in the Resolution. Mr. Pocius <br />stated that the Engineering Department has not reviewed the <br />descriptions. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the adoption of <br />Resolution No. 3-1987 as outlined above be tabled for one (1) <br />week in order to give the Engineering Department an opportunity <br />to review the legal descriptions contained in the Resolution. <br />Mrs. DeClercq seconded the motion and it carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF B & G CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO LOCATE DUMPSTER <br />IN FRONT OF 213 WEST WASHINGTON STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Donald L. Ullery, Sales Manager, <br />Superior Waste Systems, P.O. Box 2347, 20645 West Ireland Road, <br />South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of B & G Construction Company of <br />Massachusetts, requested permission to place one (1) to two (2) <br />forty (40) cubic yard construction containers in the public <br />street, at the curb line, in front of 213 West Washington Street. <br />Mr. Ullery stated that the containers will remain at this <br />location for a period of five (5) to six (6) months for <br />renovation of the future Holiday Inn. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be approved <br />subject to favorable review and recommendations from the Building <br />Department and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Vance <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED• <br />- 614 SOUTH COLUMBIA <br />- 410 EAST SOUTH STREET <br />In letters to the Board, Ms. Sandra P. Kieffer for Kieffer and <br />Zimpelman Partnership, 17700 Woodthrush, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that the Partnership would like to purchase the <br />City -owned property at 614 South Columbia as they are purchasing <br />the property north of this property from the Redevelopment <br />Department (402 & 404 East South Street). Ms. Kieffer stated <br />that they would like to acquire this property for future need. <br />Additionally, Ms. Kieffer advised that the Partnership would like <br />to acquire the City -owned property at 410 South Street as they <br />are purchasing the property adjacent to 410 E. South Street from <br />the Redevelopment Department (Lots 1 & 2). She stated that Lot 3 <br />is needed for off-street parking to meet municipal code <br />requirements. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Vance, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the above requests were referred to the necessary City <br />departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not <br />the City need retain the lots for any reason. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC TO CONDUCT 17TH <br />ANNUAL ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN - MAY 9, 1987 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Police Department Traffic Division, Fire Department and City <br />Attorney's Office have reviewed the above request submitted to <br />the Board on November 18, 1986 and recommend approval. <br />
