34 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 1987, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq <br />and Mr. Michael L. Vance present. Also present was Chief Deputy <br />City Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Vance and <br />carried, the signing of the Title Sheet for the South Bend <br />Signalization Project was added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by.Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Vance, and <br />carried, the minutes of the February 3, 1987, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved. <br />PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION . <br />DIVISION OF EQUIPMENT SERVICES ( <br />Mr. Leszczynski announced that t <br />currently selects and recognizes <br />However, a new program has been <br />the Division has been selected a <br />PLAQUE TO EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR - <br />JOHN PANOWICZ) <br />he Division of Equipment Services <br />an employee of the month. <br />instituted in that an employee of <br />s the Employee of the Year. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. John Panowicz has been selected <br />by the management as well as his peers as the Employee of the <br />Year. Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Division maintains the <br />City vehicle fleet consisting of approximately five hundred (500) <br />vehicles, which includes not only automobiles but also heavy <br />equipment such as snow plows. Mr. Phil St. Clair, Manager, <br />Division of Equipment Services, advised that in selecting Mr. <br />Panowicz as Employee of the Year, such items as attitude, <br />attendance, quantity and quality of work, job knowledge, <br />initiative and cooperation with fellow workers was considered. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski presented to Mr. John Panowicz a <br />Proclamation from the Mayor as well as a plague honoring him as <br />the first Employee of the Year. Mr. St. Clair advised that Mr. <br />Panowicz has been an employee of the City for five (5) years. <br />Board members joined Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. St. Clair in <br />congratulating Mr. Panowicz on his selection. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - APPROXIMATELY NINETEEN (19) NEW MARKED POLICE <br />VEHICLES FOR THE 1987 POLICE AUTO FLEET <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />JORDAN FORD <br />609 E. Jefferson <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Herb Baylin, Agent, Non -Collusion Affidavit <br />was in order and a 10% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />19 - 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria "S" <br />4 Dr. Sedans $ 11,615.49 ea. <br />Total Bid without Trade $220,694.31 <br />1 <br />C <br />
