REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 20, 1987 <br />1 <br />r <br />Ll <br />1 <br />The east/west alley, excepting the 14' north/south inter- <br />section, in the block bounded by Dubail, Calvert -Grant and <br />Warren being in Highland Park lst Addition to the City of <br />South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />It was noted that this Public Hearing is being held in order for <br />the Board to submit a recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning the Vacation Petition filed by: <br />Ernest Schramski <br />Harold Hatcher <br />James G. McClain <br />1725 South Grant St. <br />1806 Warren St. <br />1310 Sunwood Drive <br />Mr. Ron Schramski, Administrator of the estate of his father, <br />Ernest Schramski, advised the Board that he objects to the <br />vacation of the alley. He stated that the vacation is not <br />acceptable as it will not allow access to the garage at the <br />property at 1725 South Grant Street. <br />Mrs. Sylvia 0. Castellon, Contact Person for the Petitioners, <br />1801 South Grant Street, South Bend, Indiana, stated that she is <br />the one trying to vacate the alley and is the one who secured the <br />signature of Mr. Ernest Schramski who is now deceased. She asked <br />that the Board table this vacation Petition until an agreement <br />can be worked out with the affected property owners. <br />There being no one else present wishing to speak either for or <br />against the proposed alley vacation, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, at the <br />request of Mrs. Castellon, the public hearing regarding the <br />Vacation Petition, as referred to above, was tabled by the Board <br />for a period of thirty (30) days. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids for the sale of approximately forty (40) abandoned vehicles <br />which have been stored at Steve and Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage <br />and Repair, 3109 South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient.
