OMM <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 19, 1988 <br />its benefits. In response to an inquiry, Ms. Humphreys stated <br />that the first year cost will be $28,000 which includes start-up <br />costs. <br />Mayor Kernan further stated that this plan will provide a savings <br />to the City as well as <br />to employees because <br />the City will not <br />have to match funds in <br />Humphreys stated that <br />regards to FICA tax <br />Lincoln National was <br />and unemployment. Ms. <br />chosen because it was <br />cost competitive, not <br />the most, but had a plan <br />in place that the <br />City felt would be most <br />appropriate for the <br />City's employee group <br />and one that was very <br />well packaged. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT - NOVEMBER <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys <br />and carried, the Humane Society report for the month of November, <br />1988 indicating the number of animals handled for the City of <br />South Bend was accepted for filing as submitted. <br />APPROVE ACCEPTANCE OF N.C.R. COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH SYSTEM <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Police Chief Ronald Marciniak requesting that the Board <br />accept his letter as a recommendation for acceptance of the <br />N.C.R. CAD System. <br />Chief Marciniak stated that a review of the specifications of the <br />Contract with N.C.R. has shown that the system is performing as <br />required. The installation of the software and hardware is <br />complete for the dispatch portion. As per the Agreement, the <br />City will begin payments of the $50,205.00 with the Board's <br />5 acceptance of the Computer Aided Dispatch portion of the system. <br />Therefore, presented for Board signature was the Schedule, The <br />Certificate of Acceptance and the Certificate of Attorney. Upon <br />a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the recommendation was accepted and the acceptance of <br />the CAD System approved. <br />In response to a question from the news media, Mr. George Wagle <br />of N.C.R. advised that the monthly maintenance fee for the <br />hardware for this system is $4,000.00. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, Certificates of Insurance for the following were <br />accepted and filed: <br />1. Warner & Sons, Inc. <br />P.O. Box 87 <br />Elkhart, Indiana 46515 <br />2. McCormick & Company, Inc. <br />11350 McCormick Road <br />Hunt Valley, Maryland <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />A report from the Department of Code Enforcement indicating a <br />total of twenty-six (26) properties cleaned from December 5, 1988 <br />to December 8, 1988, was submitted. Upon a motion made by Mrs. <br />DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the report as <br />submitted was filed. <br />
