REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 5, 128 <br />- Two (2) hour parking, M - F, 8 - 6, except 15 minute <br />loading zone, all hours, immediately in front of the <br />entrance for two (2) spaces, and <br />- One (1) handicapped zone, just North of the loading zone. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN - 1234 GOODLAND AVENUE - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ralph W. Szymanski, 1627 N. <br />Wellington, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking space <br />in front of 1234 Goodland Avenue, the home of his son David, be <br />designated as a handicapped parking space. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1210 MC CARTNEY STREET <br />- REFERRED <br />Mr. David M. Golob, 1222 McCartney Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised the Board that he is interested in purchasing the <br />City -owned property at 1210 McCartney Street. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and <br />carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation in order <br />that a determination can be made as to whether the City need <br />retain this property. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR PROPOSALS FOR TOWING AND STORAGE <br />OF ABANDONED VEHICLES FOR THE YEAR 1989 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, requested that the Board <br />advertise for the receipt of Proposals for the towing and <br />storage of abandoned vehicles for the year 1989. Upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT CARRIAGE RIDES DURING ERSKINE <br />BOULEVARD ANNUAL CANDLE LIGHT WALK - DECEMBER 18, 1988 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division have reviewed the <br />request submitted by Ms. Karen Mesaros, 2420 Erskine Boulevard <br />and Ms. Barb Slater, 2424 Erskine Boulevard to conduct carriage <br />rides on Erskine Boulevard, from Victoria to Oakside, during the <br />Erskine Boulevard Candle Light Walk from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />on December 18, 1988 and recommend approval. It was noted that <br />approval was subject to the carriage having proper <br />lights/reflectors and that it staying on the right side of the <br />street yielding to oncoming traffic as well as obeying all stop <br />and traffic signage. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Ms. <br />Humphreys and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the <br />request approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AND SECURITY FOR <br />PERFORMANCES AT MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM - DECEMBER 7 1988 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request submitted to <br />the Board on November 28, 1988 and recommend approval. <br />11 <br />1 <br />Fj <br />
